Butch Roy began his improv journey as a street clown and has spent nearly 30 years producing, performing, and teaching improv. Butch is the former Technical Director at Brave New Workshop, one of the co-founders of HUGE Improv Theater, and continues to produce the Twin Cities Improv Festival and Improv a GoGo. He brings a wealth of experience and insight to his improv workshops, offering a unique and creative perspective to every class he leads. Stage Your Change is honored to have Butch as a guest instructor, sharing his expertise and passion with our community! our body knows what the story is, sometimes long before your brain catches up. In this 2-day workshop, you’ll explore how physicality, play, and presence become the foundation of compelling, honest performance. Through joyful exercises pulled from clowning, improv, and street performance, you’ll learn to trust your instincts, sharpen your physical awareness, and connect more deeply—with scene partners, audiences, and yourself. You will learn: How to follow your body’s impulses and create from instinct To communicate clearly without relying on words To explore characters and emotion through physical storytelling The magic of failure, play, and presence This class is for actors, improvisers, dancers, and curious humans who want to reconnect with joy, trust the body, and discover a more embodied way to perform.

Cancellation Policy
All courses are refundable, less the fees for processing, until one week before the course or workshop is set to begin. One week before class starts, you have the option to apply the class amount to a future class, or receive a refund less a 20% cancellation fee.
